You will be informed of student progress through Progress Checks, Written Reports and Progress Evenings.  You and your child are also encouraged to keep up to date with behaviour and effort on a day-to-day basis through the Class Charts app.  Details of how to download and access Class Charts is attached below.  If you ever have any questions about your child's achievement, please do not hesitate to contact general enquiries who will direct your query to the relevant member of staff.

Progress Checks:

You will receive a number of Progress Checks throughout the year detailing students' academic progress against the key stage curriculum and their attitude to learning, based on their behaviour, effort and completion of homework.  Teachers will use a variety of assessments to inform Progress Checks, including end-of-unit tests, classwork and homework.

Written Reports:

You will receive a written report by class teachers once a year.  Teachers will comment on student's effort and progress in their learning and give them specific areas of development regarding their progress, along with suggestions as to how this can be achieved.

Progress Evenings:

You have the opportunity to meet with subject teachers and discuss your child's progress once a year.  Students are encouraged to attend with you.  These evenings are usually held on Thursdays between 4pm and 7pm.  There is also an additional evening early on in Year 7 to allow you to meet with tutors and see how your child is settling in to The Academy.  Details of specific Progress Evenings and how to make appointments through School Cloud will be sent in advance, but please find a guide to using School Cloud attached below.
