Aptitude Assessment
The Priory Ruskin Academy will admit up to 21 students in Year 7 on the basis of their aptitude for Sport or the Visual Arts. Parents who wish to seek a place at the Academy for their child based on aptitude for Sport or Visual Arts should present their child for assessment.
Details regarding the next aptitude test for Year 5 students (looking to join in September 2025) are set out below.
Assessment Date for Visual Arts:
Visual Arts portfolio submissions should be handed in to the academy Main Reception by Friday 5th July (along with the aptitude application form). All portfolios must be in the form of hard copies, not in digital format.
PLEASE NOTE: We have extended the deadline date for Visual Arts portfolio submissions to 3pm on Tuesday 16th July. This is to ensure all prospective students have the opportunity to submit their work. This change accommodates those who may learn about the aptitude assessment process at our upcoming Open Day on Tuesday 9th July.
Assessment Dates for Sport:
The dates for the sports aptitude assessments are as follows:
- Wednesday 10th July
- Thursday 11th July
- Monday 15th July
A portfolio is NOT required for the Sport aptitude assessment.
Please complete the on-line aptitude assessment form, by Tuesday 9th July 2024, in order to book a slot.
Arrangements for the Aptitude assessment
If you would like your child to participate in one of the aptitude assessments please complete an aptitude on-line application form. Click here to view the letter to parents detailing the arrangements for assessment.
Taking the assessment is not an application in itself; assessments will only be considered when the Local Authority's Common Application Form has been received by the LA and the Academy has been notified, confirming that an application has been made.
